The Community Curation Platform invites members of the museum community to share the stories, photos and videos that make up their personal collections. The goal is to bridge the generational divide: through digital storytelling, we can continue the tradition that has helped us paint a more vivid picture of American history.

The Community Curation Platform is supported by the National Museum of African American History and Culture's open_in_new Center for the Digitization and Curation of African American History. The Center offers open_in_new free digitization services in communities across the U.S., conducts open_in_new guided genealogy research sessions in the museum, works with institutions to preserve vulnerable collections, and hosts a robust open_in_new internship and fellowship program.

Through the Community Curation Platform, the Center invites those who attend our Community Curation events and those who simply want to engage with our community to show the world there are myriad ways to tell black stories.

To get started, please review and accept our Terms and Conditions and then create your account to upload your first image or video. Not comfortable sharing? The platform invites anyone to browse and search its public stories to learn more about some of the unknown figures who have impacted our communities, culture, and history.
